Lead Service Line Inventory
Protecting public health is our number one priority. Together with our customers and home owners, we share a responsibility to protect our drinking water from sources of lead. CWS strongly encourage our customers to identify and replace any lead pipes and plumbing materials in your home. You can use our map to see if your home or business may be served by a lead service line.
Guide to the Inventory Map
- A blue circle indicates that there is a “Verified Non-Lead” service line on either the public or private side of this property. This means Charleston Water System’s inventory has a record from a reliable data source confirming the water service line material.
- A green circle indicates that there is “Suspected Non-Lead” at this property. This means that Charleston Water System has determined that the service line material may not be lead based on available record(s) and data. Our Lead Service Line Inventory was compiled using available historical data such as tap card records, maintenance and repair records, applicable regulatory statutes, and physical investigation of service lines. However, information provided by this map is reflective of the available data that Charleston Water System has for each water service in the system and CWS does not guarantee the accuracy of these records and map.
Service line inventory records will be constantly updated as CWS continues to gather service line information. CWS encourage our customers to navigate and click on the color dots to learn more about the material status of their service line as the displayed color dots may not accurately state the correct material status.
