Water pressure returns to normal level along Savannah Highway
(May 21, 2010)---Customers along Savannah Highway, between I-526 and Main Rd., may have experienced low water pressure between 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. today.
Charleston Water crews discovered a leak at Long Branch Creek. The leak has been isolated and repairs are underway.
As of 3:00 p.m. water pressure has returned to normal. As a result of reversals in water flow direction, mineral deposits that sometimes accumulate inside water mains may temporarily cause slight water discoloration for some customers. This is harmless, and customers should simply let their faucets run until the water turns clear.
As an additional precaution, Charleston Water crews will be flushing hydrants in the area to reduce potential discoloration. For more information or if you need additional service, please contact our Customer Service Department at 727-6800.
