All water and wastewater projects constructed in Charleston Water System’s water and wastewater service areas must comply with the requirements of Charleston Water System’s Minimum Standards for the Design & Construction of Water and Wastewater Systems. The resources listed below are provided to assist developers, engineers, and contractors in designing, permitting, constructing and transferring water and wastewater system assets to Charleston Water System. 

Notice of Revisions:

Impact Fee Increases and Important Policy Change

On December 16, 2015, Charleston Water System’s Board of Commissioners approved a three-phased incremental increase to water and wastewater impact fees, with the first increase on July 1, 2016, the second on July 1, 2017, and the third on July 1, 2018. View fee schedule

In addition, the Board approved reducing the Unit Contributory Loading (UCL) for an Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) from 400 gallons per day to 300 gallons per day, effective January 1, 2016.
